About Me

I am a child of God, a pastor's wife, and a mother of two beautiful girls.  I have the honor and privilege of being able to stay at home with our girls and play, I mean raise them up in the Lord!  My days would not be complete with out VERY loud karaoke singing, dressing up in tutus, painting little fingers and toes and of course, a healthy dose of baking.  And this year we'll be adding in a healthy helping of homeschooling...second grade and preschool here we come!

My  husband and I recently planted a church in the San Diego area and what a wild ride it has been!  I can honestly say it has been one of the hardest years of our life, but also one of the most rewarding.  For me, it has been a true test of what happens when we walk in complete faith and trust in our Lord!  I look forward to sharing some of our journey with you.

I love taking care of my family and "nourishing" their bodies toward a healthy lifestyle.  I truly believe that if you want to "be in shape", there is definitely sweat in your future!  Let me tell you, there is a whole lot of sweating going on in my life!  There are no shortcuts to cultivating a physically and spiritually healthy life....it's hard work and it may hurt at times.  My family needs wholesome food along with the Word of God to fuel and "nourish" their bodies daily!

About The Blog:
Thanks to the encouragement from my family and friends, I have officially entered the wide world of blogging and warmly welcome you to "Get Nourished."  My hopes and prayers in creating this blog are sweet and simple...let's make one healthy decision at a time by "nourishing" our bodies both spiritually and physically.  God tells us, "do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own."  We can make small changes one day at a time that will lead us toward a life that is "nourished" from the inside out! I pray that you will enjoy some of the wholesome and healthy recipes, most of which are gluten-free, vegetarian, and/or vegan.

Blessings,
J'lene
